Men Why You Should Keep Your First Date Under $20

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

By Teddy Shabba What is the difference between an expensive date and an inexpensive date? The amount of money you have left in your pocket afterwards. In a perfect world the more you spent on a woman the stronger her affection, yet with women in general before the date even starts as a man she is going to have put you in 1 of 3 different categories: She Likes YouShe Doesn’t Really KnowShe Doesn’t Like YouOkay, so now that you know the three different categories let’s go over each one and why the best bet for you will be keeping it under $20 with each. She Likes You: As a man you should go into every date including the first with the belief that the woman you are going out with likes you and is going to enjoy spending time with you. Now when you are coming form this frame of mind it is going to be easy for you to keep it under $20 because essentially you will be doing the things you normally would do. Just in case you think you don’t do much here is a short list: Watch a movie at yours or her houseBatting CagesIce CreamLocal FestivalOpen Mike NightThe list is pretty much endless even going grocery shopping or to the store will be considered fun if the girl likes you its you not where that is exciting to her. She Doesn’t Really Know: Hopefully if you already took my advice and are under the belief that she likes you, yet the reality is often going to be that she doesn’t really know. In her mind you seem to be really fun, cool, or whatever you might have and then there is a part of her that just doesn’t know. Now imagine you show up take her out and wine and dine her on a first date and spare no expense. Obviously you have nothing to offer her because this was the time to show it and instead you tried and impress her with gifts and money both of which most men can offer this isn’t going to excite her. In fact all you have done is raise her value and lower yours; since you where already borderline you have conveniently raised the bar and lowered yourself in one quick night. Well what if instead you took her to your usual things and exhibited all those things she was attracted to in the first place raising your value and as a side benefit having a good time as well. More often than not you are going to find yourself in the "She Likes You" category and if not well at least you had a good time which should be your goal in the first place. She Doesn’t Like You: Some women have figured out that there are men out there who will feed them, buy them nice things and take them to nice places with only the hope of it going somewhere. Which is perfectly okay and as a man know that a woman who doesn’t find you attractive won’t find you attractive no matter how much you "buy them" in fact she will put up with you in direct proportion of how much she gets from you? If you take a woman who doesn’t like you to the grocery store expect her to leave early, which for you will be a good thing because the only thing she is about is what she can get and no REAL MAN ever wants that Teddy Shabba is a Dating Coach for Men who has a daily newsletter that provides you with a wealth of information on how to be more successful with women. Experience Arthritis Relief With A Natural Twist

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

By Mike Herman If you find your joints stiff and your mobility limited, try seeking arthritis relief with a natural twist. Eastern medicine is quite popular these days and many sufferers are seeking other methods of treating this often-debilitating disease. Instead of consuming expensive and unnatural pharmaceuticals that may interact with other medications prescribed by your doctor, think outside of the box when it comes to your arthritis treatment! Look into other motives of treatment, including diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes that are capable of changing your body as well as your quality of life. Arthritis relief with natural herbs, vitamins, and remedies can be the light at the end of your pain-ridden tunnel. Instead of taking the mainstream path when it comes to arthritis relief without natural articles, consider taking an alternative path. Use more holistic methods like yoga, meditation, acupuncture , visualizations, and many other approaches that have worked for thousands of years. Although the popularity behind these treatments may be new, the treatment themselves certainly are not! Instead of laughing off these options or ridiculing individuals who seek pain relief from these methods, research these age-old ways of dealing with pain and motility. By far, the most popular alternative method of pain relief and motility issues is acupuncture . Roughly 15 million individuals in this country seek out this form of treatment. Ask your health care provider for the name of a professional in this area. The process may seem unusual, but by inserting needles into specific points on the sufferer’s body, the pain and motility concerns can be addressed. These needles do not cause pain and often result in a immediate results. Food Cravings and Weight Loss

Monday, August 27th, 2007

By Chris Chenoweth We all have them; food cravings that jeopardize our efforts to lose weight and our long-term health. Why, because the cravings are nearly always for foods that are high in sugar, salt, fat and calories. What causes food cravings, why do we have them, and how do we eliminate them? Simply put, food cravings are an intense desire for a specific food. Nearly always, our cravings are for food that is very sweet, salty, fatty or loaded with carbohydrates. The cravings can differ according to gender, age and/or personal tastes. Some of the most common food cravings are for chocolate, ice cream, potato chips, pizza, and pasta. Most of us only have food cravings once in a while. However, food cravings can become an addiction, leading to obesity, depression, eating disorders, and increase the risk for many diseases and conditions. What causes food cravings? Actually, there can be many possible causes. Identifying the possible causes for your cravings will help you find the solutions for eliminating them. Food cravings can be caused by emotional or physical factors. EMOTIONAL CAUSES *Anger, resentment, bitterness or frustration. *Stress, anxiety, tension or fear. *Boredom or emptiness. *Depression. *Loneliness. *Chronic fatigue. If you suffer from any of these problems chronically, your food cravings will remain. PHYSICAL CAUSES *RESTRICTIVE OR HABITUAL DIETING. If you are trying to follow a very restrictive diet, your body will become nutrient deficient. It will try to fill this deficiency in the form of food cravings. Consequently, if you are constantly on a diet, you will constantly be craving certain foods. This is why diets based on too many food restrictions cause us to put on more weight instead of lose weight. *HABITS. You always eat candy bars and popcorn at the movies, you always eat dessert after a meal, you always eat way too much food at your favorite restaurant, etc. *LOW BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS. If your blood sugar levels are low, your energy levels are low. This can signal your body to crave certain foods. *SENSORY TRIGGERS. Sometimes your body may respond to a smell like walking past a bakery. ELIMINATING FOOD CRAVINGS There are many changes we can make to help deal with food cravings. The following tips will help you with the physical factors that cause cravings. *EAT A WELL-BALANCED DIET. By eating a wide variety of nutritious food, eating in moderation, and never skipping meals, our bodies will not feel deprived or lacking in the nutrients it needs. NEVER skip breakfast! *DO NOT EAT AT NIGHT. This is the time when the greatest number of food cravings occurs. If you must eat, have a healthy snack like a piece of fruit or a yogurt. *AVOID HIGH-SUGAR FOODS. Sugar causes a steep rise in blood sugar levels, immediately followed by steep declines. *DRINK LOTS OF WATER. Water keeps you feeling full, keeps your body hydrated, and flushes unhealthy toxins out of your system. You may think you are hungry, when your body is actually telling you it needs water. *GET PLENTY OF SLEEP. Get at least 8 hours of sleep each night. This way your body will feel rested. *BRUSH YOUR TEETH. If you brush your teeth every time you eat, it will discourage you from eating too much. *If you suffer from compulsive eating and cannot satisfy your craving by eating a small portion of the food you crave, you should completely avoid the food. The emotional causes of food cravings are more difficult to deal with as they can be very complicated and difficult to overcome. Some of the tips listed below may help you. *AVOID STRESS. You must make efforts to reduce your stress level. Take up a new hobby, something that you think you would really enjoy. Try knitting, crocheting, working puzzles, playing games with your kids, read, take walks. Use relaxation techniques like yoga or learn how to meditate. Get a massage every week. *KEEP TRACK OF THE FOOD YOU EAT. Write down everything that you eat in a day. You may be appalled at how much you are actually eating each day. What times do you eat the most? What can you do instead? *ADDRESS EMOTIONAL ISSUES. If you are angry, depressed, frustrated, etc., deal with what is causing the feeling. Try to find a solution. Remember that eating is not the solution. *GIVE YOURSELF A BREAK. If you do give into your cravings occasionally, go easy on yourself and try to do better the next time. No one is harder on us than ourselves. If you suffer from food cravings, you are not alone. However, if they are controlling your life, discover why they are controlling your life and do something about it. No one can help you unless you help yourself. The European Union Said No to Non-Greek Feta Cheese

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

By Mayoor Patel Feta Cheese is made from either goat or sheeps milk, as has been the tradition in Greece for thousands of years. It is one of the oldest cheeses made by man. This cheese is cured and salted in liquid that is either water or whey based for at least three months. It is a white cheese, with a tangy salty taste. It is also now the legal property of the Greeks. The European Commission decided in October of 2002, that the claim Greece had been trying to make was reasonable and voted to allow them to be the only European country that could sell feta cheese using that name. This made other countries, particularly Denmark, France and Germany, very unhappy. They make and export their own type of feta cheese; Denmark alone exports upwards of twenty thousand metric tons. Whereas Greece makes over one hundred thousand metric tons but most of that is for domestic use. This is no different than when the European Commission decided to protect French Champagne, Italian Parma Ham or Newcastle Brown Ale. It just seems to have been greeted with more objections. Denmark said it would continue the battle that has raged for thirteen years over the feta cheese name in the courts. Oddly the complaint coming from Denmark is that they have been making feta cheese for decades. Yet, they seem to forget that the Greeks can trace it back to ancient Greece and the times of Homer. There are even myths written about the first feta cheese maker, a cyclop named Polyphemus. The story is told that he carried milk from his sheep in animal skin bags on a long trip. After a few days he noticed the milk had become solid, tasty and easier to preserve. One of the arguments that were given in favor of the name remaining Greek property was that the Greeks believe that if must be made only from sheep or goats milk. Some countries began to make it from cows milk. But also, they believe it tasted better if the animals were those raised solely on fields in Greece where the animals were eating only flowers and grasses from those fields. Getting A Foot In

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

By Vlady Peters While we bewail the lot of women, courtship for men wasnt always a picnic either, especially in times where he had to make all the moves, and could end up with egg on his face. Thats why for a long time, the matchmakers were so popular. They could make the initial foray into the enemy country, and only after finding the inhabitants not unfriendly, was the young man given the go-ahead. The young man was aware, that this early indications of interest, did not mean a definite victory. Not wishing to risk public ridicule, he would sally forth, with the matchmaker at his side, to the house of his beloved, always at night. He explained the hour to himself, by pointing out that spirits were ever jealous of human happiness, and the less the spirits saw, the better for all concerned. But really, he just didnt want everyone to know if his visit turned out to be a complete disaster. Once inside the house, the suitor would produce a bottle of vodka, with a red ribbon and flowers tied around it. He would ask for a glass from the girl he was after. The girl would leave the room. If interested, she would be back in a twinkling of an eye, carrying a glass in her eager little hands. There would be a drink of vodka all around, and generally everyone would become friendly and chatty. On the other hand, if the clock was ticking and ticking, and the was no sign of the girl and the house consisted of two and a half rooms - the young man could assume that he hadnt passed the test. If he continued to sit there like a stunned mullet, hoping against hope that the young miss would come back any old minute, one of the more venerable members of her family would very courteously stand up, walk to the door, open it wide, and throw a very meaningful look at the suitor. Loath though he was to do it, the young man had no option but to pick up his unwanted vodka, and take his leave. If however, his vodka had been happily consumed, he would be back for another visit, with another bottle of vodka several days later. This time, however, there would be not only drinking, but also eating, and general rejoicing. However, it was up to the lady, to decide whether she was ready for a commitment. If she, herself, took a sip of the vodka, and passed her glass to the gentleman, and he took a sip as well, it was as good as a ring on the finger. If, on the other hand, this second meeting didnt go as well as the first one, and there was no sip of the vodka by the intended, then it was assumed that negotiations were at end. In order to make this quite clear, without having to actually spell it out, instead of serving the suitor something delectable, he would be served what is know as the black soup, being a broth with a dollop of ducks blood and the addition of sugar and vinegar. One look at the black mass, and the suitor knew hed been rejected, and could stop wasting his good vodka. Grow Lemon Balm and Let its Aroma Enrich Your Life

Monday, August 20th, 2007

By James Penn Are you anxious or under some serious stress? Using lemon balm is an excellent way to calm yourself. This aromatic herb has several other beneficial medicinal properties besides relaxation. Not only does it pep up your mood and spirits but it relaxes your mind, promotes sleep, improves digestion, reduces flatulence, and heals cuts and injuries on your body too. Its helps seal up wounds and in other words, it can make an excellent surgical dressing. You can rub lemon balm on your skin to repel mosquitoes and it can help heal bites of venomous creatures like scorpions. It even brings down fever, as it induces perspiration. These are just a few of the many of its uses. In fact, you can make a long list of its anti-viral and ant-bacterial properties as also its medicinal and cosmetic uses or its uses in the kitchen. Growing Lemon Balm From the mint family, lemon balm is a very plant easy to grow. You can either sow its seeds in a piece of land that is fertile and moist or grow it from stem-cuttings or root divisions. As the seeds are quite small, ensure that you cover them with a thin layer of rich soil so they do not blow away in the wind. You can use stem-cuttings taken from the plants in summer. If you use root divisions, it is best to do so in early fall or spring. See to it that each root- cutting has at least 3 or 4 buds. Space the plants about 2 feet apart to allow the necessary freedom for it to grow well. As with many plants, lemon balm takes more time to grow from seed than from cuttings. You will also have more success growing plants with more succulent leaves in shade than under bright direct sunlight. In winter, if ground conditions are freezing cold, mulching the crowns will help. Proper irrigation, suitable fertilization with chemicals like nitrogen, phosphorus and potash, prevention and removal of weeds, usage of organic and other controls for keeping away insects, adopting good cultural practices are some of the important aspects that will help you in harvesting healthy, disease-free, lemon balm. You need to cut off the decayed stalks and loosen the soil around the roots to allow faster growth. Trim the plants quite frequently so as to stimulate branching and to increase foliage. They usually are in bloom from late spring to midsummer. The flowers are white or yellowish and attract bees. The leaves are oval or heart shaped, shiny and crenate. When fresh, lemon balm gives better fragrance than when dried. You can harvest once or twice a week, once the plants start to bloom. Take care to avoid bruising the leaf during harvesting, as otherwise the quality of the product will suffer. Dry the harvested lemon balm outside, but in partial shade rather than directly under the sun. If there is moisture in the air at night, the lemon balm will turn brown. Alternatively, you can air dry it in your shed, or even oven dry it on screens. You need to store the dried balm in airtight containers. With the umpteen ways in which lemon balm can be put to use, there is no doubt that you will find many uses for it with your own bountiful harvest. Can Acupressure Relieve Your Gout Attack?

Monday, August 20th, 2007

By Lisa McDowell Exercise is excellent at preventing gout, but it isnt the best treatment when it comes to easing a gout attack. However, this doesnt mean that you need to turn to medication to ease your pain and discomfort. There are plenty of alternative and complimentary remedies out there you may want to try first. One such alternative or complimentary therapy is acupressure. What is acupressure? Acupressure, also known as a Shiatsu massage, is an ancient form of Chinese medicine that is based on the same principles as acupuncture. Essentially, the belief is that the body has approximately 2000 trigger points that are linked throughout the body via 20 different meridians. Qi (life energy) flows throughout the meridians between the surface of the body and its internal organs. Qi uniquely affects all of the trigger points it flows through bringing balance to both the mind and body. When the body suffers injury or illness, qi becomes unbalanced. Thus by performing acupressure on the particular points of the body related to the affected area, these points can be used to direct the nervous system to release muscular tension and increase blood flow to the injured parts. In other words, balance is restored. The main difference between, acupuncture and acupressure is the application. Acupuncture uses needles, while acupressure primarily uses fingers or thumbs to apply pressure to the trigger points to encourage circulation and self-healing in the body. What are the benefits of acupressure for gout sufferers? Acupressure provides many gout sufferers with relief from pain, resulting from inflammation of gout-infected joints. Acupressure can also: - Increase circulation - Reduce tension - Relieves stress - Enables the body to achieve deep relaxation - Maintain health How to perform acupressure Acupressure is performed by applying gentle, but firm pressure to a specific trigger point with the finger, thumb or knuckle. Pressure is usually applied for 15 30 seconds. You will know when the trigger point has been found as you will feel a sharp jolt, immediately followed by a tingling or numbing sensation. This sensitivity is normal, and usually decreases over time. When pressure is released, there is often immediate pain relief. Although acupressure is a treatment that requires no equipment, oils, etc. to work, it is important that you know how to properly perform acupressure before applying it to yourself or others. There are plenty of online resources and self-help guides that can educate and teach you how to perform acupressure, but it is recommended that you seek treatment and instruction from a qualified and experienced acupressure therapist before engaging in acupressure on your own. For instance, even though a diagram can show you every acupressure trigger point on the body, not all points can help you achieve relief from gout pain and discomfort. Every illness has its own specific trigger points that need to be targeted based on the ailment and the area of the body where one is experiencing symptoms. For example, if you were to visit magnecare.co.uk, you would find a diagram of acupressure points and discover that the recommended trigger points to relieve gout pain are - 41 Located just above the inside ankle 63 Located on the lower back near the spine 65 Located in the middle of the buttock 66 Located on the backside of your hip 67 Located directly behind your knee 68 - Located in the middle of your calf However, depending on where you are experiencing gout pain, not all of these trigger points need to be addressed. To find a local qualified acupressure therapist, ask your doctor, a physiotherapist, the local hospital, or check the yellow pages. You can also search online by using your city name and acupressure therapist as the keyword search. Remember, if you want effective pain relief from a gout attack, acupressure must be performed properly. By Lisa McDowell. Sign up for a free newsletter & discover the cause of gout treatments. A Career That Makes a Difference

Saturday, August 18th, 2007

By Corbin Wright I think I have one of the most important jobs in the world. I didn’t realize it at the time, because I took it as a temporary job until, what I thought, a real or permanent job came along. I was an accountant, so I was looking for something along that line. I know when I was in college, people thought in terms of preparing for jobs as a lawyer, doctor, teacher, engineer, or businessman. But the problem in the world today is that there’s so much violence, and it seems to be never-ending. And I believe the basic reason for this is a lack of communication and an understanding of the different cultures that exist around the world. And the basic reason for this is that there are so many different languages spoken in the world. If we all could speak one language, I think things could be a lot easier to deal with. Now English is accepted as being the International Language of the world, and at the moment I’m teaching English in Argentina, and have been doing so for about 20 years. I became involved in this profession down here accidentally because I married an Argentine woman in New York who became lonely up there for her family so we moved down here. I thought this work would only be temporary, as I mentioned above, but eventually I realized that this job was really one of the most important jobs one could ever do. They would learn about your culture and you would learn about theirs. And they would get to know you as a person from a country that many foreigners think is the biggest bully in the world, and it could change their minds regarding this in realizing that there are many good Americans as well. Now if you really want to see the world cheaply, and to get to understand other cultures and make a real, but maybe small, contribution in bringing peace to the world, become an English teacher in the foreign country of your choice. I know some who travel around the world this way by earning a little money in teaching English in one country before traceling to the next, and the next, and the next. On the other hand, one of my friends who taught English in Argentina moved to China under a 3 year contract to teach English there. So if you want to prepare for a career that will really make a difference in the world, you could become an English teacher for the foreign born in a foreign country. AN AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH I was born in New York City in 1931, grew up on Long Island, graduated from Roanoke College in Virginia with a BA in Political Science, and from New York Theological Seminary with a Masters in Religious Education. I became a committed Christian in 1958, and after a number of years became a committed Ecumenical Christian. I worked as an accountant in various companies for about 25 years in New York City, then moved down to Argentina and worked for about 21 years as a Business EnglishConversationalist Teacher with some of the top managers. My greatest positive life-changing experience occurred in the early 70’s when I became very active for about 3 years in a social nudist (both sexes) camp. I also became a Stephen Minister (trained counselor) while down here in Argentina. I have been married twice (the last to an Argentine), widowed once, have no children, but one cat. Interview Questions To Ask: Questions You Can Ask During An Interview

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

By Carl Mueller What interview questions to ask is a question that job searchers often ask themselves when preparing for their interview. The questions you ask during an interview can be a critical part of showing an interviewer that you are interested in the job and knowledgeable about the company. Sure, youre going to be asked most of the questions during the interview but youre expected to ask questions yourself, too. Remember that interviewing is a two-way street. Employers almost always allow you time to ask some questions during an interview and you need to be prepared with some questions and also account for the fact that some questions you might want to ask get answered during the course of the interview. When considering what interview questions to ask, remember to ask questions that relate to the company, the job and to what you offer the company. Your list of interview questions to ask should be typed out on a plain sheet of white paper and brought with you during the interview. Dont try to memorize the questions, write them down. What specific questions should you ask? What questions shouldnt you ask? Obviously, the specific job and industry will largely help you decide what interview questions to ask the person you are meeting with when discussing a job. Here are some good interview questions to ask that should help you put a short list together that you can tailor for each interview you attend: Interview Questions To Ask About The Job Can you describe the ideal candidate for the job?Could you describe a typical workday for the position? What special skills does this position require? What special skills would your ideal candidate possess? Can you tell me a little bit about the people Ill be working with? Can you tell me a little bit about the people Ill be managing? (If you are managing staff)Is this a newly created position or am I replacing someone? How will my performance on the job be measured? How much travel does the job require? Interview Questions To Ask About The Company What does the company do better than its competitors to distinguish itself? What are the immediate goals of the department youll be working in? What are the immediate goals of the company? How does the group youll be working in fit into the organizational structure of the company? What is the biggest challenge that the company faces? What is the companys competitive advantage? What does the interviewer like about the company the most? Depending on who you meet during the interview: Interview Questions To Ask The Hiring Manager What specific goals do you have set out for this job in the first 6 months/12 months? What challenges do you see me having to face to complete these goals (the goals they mentioned in the first question). What could I do in this role that would make your job easier? Interview Questions To Ask A Human Resources rep Does the company offer employee training? What is the company policy on continuing education? Depending on who you speak with when you end the interview: Interview Questions To Ask Before You Leave The Interview Are there any other questions I can answer regarding my background and suitability for the job? Are there any questions you asked that I can further clarify for you? Do you have any concerns regarding my suitability for the position? How do I compare with other candidates you have interviewed? What is the next step in the interview process? Carl Mueller is an Internet entrepreneur and professional recruiter who wants to help you find your dream career.
